Local and international jazz acts set for Reus garden
The second Festivalet Jazz Reus will take place from Thursday 10 to Sunday 13 September at the garden of Casa Rull in Reus. Organised by the Mas del Jazz Association, the event brings together four days of live performances spanning styles within jazz, from big band to intimate ensembles. Mas del Jazz Orchestra opens the festival on Thursday 10 September at 7:30pm, performing 'remembers The Concert Jazz Band'. The ensemble, composed of musicians from southern Catalonia, performs in a big-band format and includes former students of Higher Degrees in Modern Music and Jazz at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya.
Line-up highlights regional and national talent
On Friday 11 September at 7:30pm, the Pau Terol Trio takes the stage. Led by Reus-born pianist Pau Terol, the trio features Mayte Alguacil and blends musical influences developed through training in Catalonia and abroad. Saturday 12 September sees Isa Mirallas & Rai Paz perform at 8pm, joined by guest contrabassist Giuseppe Campisi. Their sound combines jazz with Cuban bolero, Brazilian rhythms and singer-songwriter material. Sunday begins with a matinee performance at 12pm by the Miguel Viejo Trio, an Aragonese guitarist based in Reus. This will be followed by a jam session open to visiting musicians. The festival closes at 7:30pm with Albert Cirera & Tres Tambors. Cirera, a saxophonist and composer from Igualada, is known for his work in the contemporary jazz scene in Spain and internationally.
Tickets available online for individual shows and passes
Tickets for individual concerts are priced at €17, while the Miguel Viejo Trio matinee with jam session is €5. Festival passes are also available. All tickets can be purchased via the Mas del Jazz Association's official shop. The garden of Casa Rull, a recurring venue for local cultural programming including the 'Cultura de proximitat' series, provides an outdoor setting for the event. The festival aims to blend local Reus talent with broader Catalan and international jazz voices.
