Our newsroom focuses on regional news that the city-centric outlets miss: stories from Girona, Tarragona, Lleida, Catalunya Central, Penedès, Alt Pirineu i Aran, Terres de l'Ebre, plus the wider Barcelona metropolitan area.

Who we are
Catalan.News is published by Pub.cat, a Barcelona-based media company founded by Owen Hughes in 2026. We are the regional complement to our sister site Barna.News.
This newsroom operates using a bespoke AI editorial system. That system researches and drafts every article from primary sources throughout Catalonia (Generalitat press releases, ajuntament announcements, named regional publications, public records), after which a human editor reviews and approves it before publication.
