Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) will run all-night train services on the S2 line between Barcelona Plaça Catalunya and Sabadell Parc del Nord during the main nights of Sabadell’s Fiesta Mayor in 2026. The move aims to support increased passenger travel during the city’s annual festival celebrations.
According to a statement published by the Generalitat on govern.cat, FGC will provide uninterrupted service on key festival nights, mirroring past arrangements for major events in Terrassa, Rubí and Sant Cugat. During these nights, trains will run at regular intervals beyond normal operating hours, allowing safe late-night returns for residents and visitors.
Part of Broader Night Transport Strategy
The extended service follows FGC’s established practice during high-attendance civic events. As confirmed in previous announcements, the operator provides all-night services on New Year’s Eve across several lines, including the S1, S2, L6, L7, L8 and L12.
The goal is to respond to expected increases in demand and encourage public transport use during major local festivals.
This approach was previously applied during the 2024 and 2025 festivities in Sant Cugat and Rubí, with trains running hourly throughout the night on the S1 line from 26 to 29 June, according to a 2024 Generalitat announcement.
How to Plan Your Journey
Passengers are advised to check real-time schedules via the FGC website or the Moovit app ahead of the event. The Sabadell Plaça Major station, located in fare zone C5, offers lifts, escalators, bicycle parking and ticket machines.
No exact dates for the 2026 Sabadell festival have been confirmed in the notice, but the service pattern is expected to align with prior years’ festival timelines. Further details will be published on FGC’s official channels as the event approaches.
