Extended Night Service for Fiestas de Gràcia

Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB) will operate the metro continuously for 67 hours during the Fiestas de Gràcia, from 05:00 on Friday 21 August to midnight on Sunday 23 August. This measure coincides with the final weekend of the festival, which runs from 15 to 21 August in the Gràcia neighbourhood. The extended service aims to support late-night festivities, particularly the correfoc fire run at Plaça de la Vila on Friday at 23:30.

Reinforced L3 Line and Alternative Routes

The L3 line, which serves the heart of Gràcia, will see up to a 10% increase in train frequency during peak times. Stations at Lesseps, Fontana, and Diagonal will act as primary access points. TMB also recommends alternative metro entrances: Joanic on L4, and Verdaguer and Diagonal on L5. Multiple bus lines serve the area, including D40, D50, H6, H8, H10, V15, V17, V19, 6, 7, 19, 22, 24, 27, 33, 34, 39, 47, 114, and 116.

TMB advises planning journeys in advance due to ongoing summer maintenance works that may affect some routes and frequencies.

Passengers are urged to consult the TMB app before travel, as engineering works across the network could lead to reduced services or required transfers. The 67-hour non-stop service marks a shift from previous years, when night transport relied mainly on special bus routes. This expanded metro operation may be repeated during La Mercè festivities in September, depending on passenger demand.

Minimising Disruption in Residential Area

The festival draws tens of thousands each night, creating logistical challenges in the residential streets of Gràcia. TMB’s strategy focuses on dispersing crowds across multiple stations and reinforcing staffing for safety, customer service, and cleanliness. Despite the increased capacity, peak-hour congestion on platforms and trains remains likely, especially following major events like the correfoc.
