The Teatre de l’Aurora in Igualada is staging Un tal Cèsar, a comedy by Marcel Tomàs, as part of the 2026 Festa Major. The play runs for three nights starting today, with performances at 9 p.m. each evening. Tickets are priced at €14 and remain available for purchase, despite high demand.

Written and directed by Tomàs, who also stars alongside Toni Escribano, the play centres on a confrontation between an archaeologist and a worker at a tourist development site. This clash sparks a humorous time-travel journey to ancient Rome, where Tomàs portrays Julius Caesar in a parade of historical figures including Cleopatra, Mark Antony, and Asterix. The production lasts one hour and 20 minutes.

Un tal Cèsar completes a comedic historical trilogy by Tomàs and Cascai Teatre, following earlier works Un tal Shakespeare and Un tal Quixot. The company has previously toured productions across Catalonia, including performances in Girona, Seva, and Madrid in February 2026, as listed in the ciatre.com programme.
