Regional police, the Mossos d'Esquadra, responded to a shooting incident in El Prat de Llobregat on Monday 10 August after a fight between families escalated into gunfire. No injuries or arrests were reported, but officers recovered 32 shell casings and five cartridges, confirming the use of firearms during the altercation.
The first call to emergency services came shortly before 9pm, when neighbours near the courts area reported hearing a fight and multiple gunshots. Officers arrived at Plaça de l'Amistat, where witnesses said one individual had entered a building while another fled on foot. Police searched the building and identified a person carrying a knife, though no arrest was made.
Second alert hours later
About an hour and fifteen minutes later, police were called again after the same individuals reportedly met again on Carrer del Riu Túria and opened fire. Officers found 32 shell casings and five cartridges at the scene. Despite the volume of spent ammunition, no gunshot injuries were recorded, and no suspects were detained.

This event follows a similar incident in neighbouring L'Hospitalet de Llobregat the previous day, Sunday 9 August, where an argument between a man and a woman ended with shots fired into the air. That incident also resulted in no injuries or arrests. These cases highlight a growing concern over the use of guns in public disputes across the Barcelona metropolitan area.
Over recent days, multiple firearm incidents have been reported in the region, including in Nou Barris and the Raval district, none of which caused injuries but all contributing to rising alarm about armed confrontations among rival groups.
