On 30 July 2026, the Territory Commission of Catalonia gave initial approval to the Pla Director Urbanístic d’Activitat Econòmica (PDUAE), an urban development plan, for Alió and Vila-rodona in Alt Camp. The proposal would bring almost 145 hectares of new industrial and logistics land to market for companies needing large plots.
For residents of Alió and Vila-rodona, the decision opens a 45-business-day public consultation period in which objections can be submitted. The land is intended for industrial and logistics businesses, with potential to support local employment and new access infrastructure.
Land between the AP-2 and C-51
The planned development area lies between the AP-2 motorway to the north, the C-51 road to the south, the road connecting those two routes to the east and the slope beside the Alió road towards Santes Creus to the west.
The Generalitat says the location is intended to accommodate large-format industrial and logistics activity in one connected area, rather than dispersing developments across the territory.
Public consultation before a possible 2027 decision
The plan is now on public display for 45 business days. Residents, landowners and businesses wishing to make representations can follow the documentation and consultation process through the Generalitat’s PDU d’activitat econòmica d’Alió i Vila-rodona planning page.
According to the commission’s timetable, final approval could be granted at the beginning of 2027 after the consultation process and consideration of the objections submitted.
