Catalonia’s gross domestic product grew by 2.8% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2025, according to the Statistical Institute of Catalonia (Idescat) advance estimate.
For Catalan businesses, workers and residents, the release is the latest official measure of economic activity across the territory. Idescat said every sector made a positive contribution to annual growth, rather than expansion being limited to a single part of the economy.
Quarterly growth was 0.6%
Compared with the first quarter of 2025, Catalan GDP increased by 0.6%. GDP measures the value of goods and services produced in an economy.
Idescat said the annual growth rate was six-tenths of a percentage point lower than in the previous quarter. The institute published the figures as an advance estimate in its Quarterly Accounts release for the second quarter of 2025.
