Public Census Review Now Underway

The Terrassa Chamber of Commerce (Barcelona) has opened the public review period for its 2027 electoral census, allowing local businesses and self-employed individuals to verify their inclusion. The process began today, 13 October 2026, and runs until 11 November 2026 for consultation, with challenges accepted until 25 November 2026. This marks a key step in the renewal of governing bodies across Catalonia's official chambers of commerce, industry, services and navigation. The final elections are scheduled for autumn 2027.

How to Check and Challenge the Roll

The census is available for electronic consultation via the chamber’s official channels. Businesses and sole traders affected by the list can file formal objections between 13 October and 25 November 2026. The chamber has established a dedicated information and support service for queries related to the electoral process. Eligibility is based on registration in relevant commercial, industrial or service categories. In the 2023 elections, the Terrassa Chamber’s census included over 34,500 enterprises and self-employed workers. When counting multiple category affiliations, as one company may qualify in more than one, the total approached 41,000 voting rights. The process follows the guidelines set out in Resolution EMT/3528/2026, which governs the public display of electoral rolls for Catalonia’s official chambers.

What Happens Next

After the challenge period ends on 25 November, the chamber will review submitted claims and publish a final, corrected census. The timeline for candidate nominations and voting procedures will follow in due course. For more information, businesses can contact the chamber directly or visit its official portal for updates on the electoral process.
