Tarragona's Guàrdia Urbana, the municipal police force, will operate a special security and mobility plan during the Sant Magí festivities, increasing officers at the events expected to draw the largest crowds. Residents and visitors attending concerts, open-air dances and traditional events can expect a greater police presence, particularly in busy parts of the city.
According to Radio Ciutat, the plan is intended to ensure that programmed events proceed safely and in an orderly way. The festivities began on Friday 8 August and are scheduled to continue until Tuesday 19 August.
Individual deployments for the largest events
Each large-scale event will have its own police deployment. The measures will focus on gatherings with the greatest expected attendance and on places where crowds are likely to concentrate.

People going to the busiest Sant Magí events should allow extra time to enter and leave crowded areas, particularly in the Part Alta, and follow instructions from police and emergency staff on site.
