Sant Cugat del Vallès is marking Catalonia’s National Day, the Diada, with public institutional and cultural events across three central squares today, Friday 11 September. Residents can attend the morning floral tributes and performances in Plaça de Rafael Casanova and Plaça de la Vila, before an evening sardana concert in Plaça d’Octavià.
The programme forms part of four days of events from 8 to 11 September and is presented under the theme “Rebuilding the country since 1714”, according to Visit Sant Cugat’s official programme.
Friday programme in Sant Cugat
Morning events begin at Plaça de Rafael Casanova, where political parties will lay floral tributes from 9am until 10.55am. The institutional tribute follows at 11am, followed at 11.15am by a joint rendition of Els Segadors, Catalonia’s national anthem.
