Diada Events Set for 11 September

The city of Reus will commemorate the National Day of Catalonia on Friday 11 September 2026 with a series of cultural events at Plaça del Baluard, organised by the Ajuntament de Reus. The free, public event begins at 10:00 with a musical performance by Trio Lignum, followed by an institutional floral offering from municipal representatives.

Key Moments Include Glossa and Human Tower Display

At 10:15, Coia Ballesté Brumós, journalist and Catalunya Ràdio delegate, will deliver the official glossa, a spoken tribute to Catalonia’s history and identity, culminating in the singing of 'Els Segadors' by the Orfeó Reusenc choir. This will be followed at 10:35 by a commemorative dance performed by Laura Roig.

Community Tributes and Casteller Demonstration

From 10:40, local organisations will present their own floral offerings, accompanied by live music from Trio Lignum. The morning concludes at 11:30 with a 'pilar' human tower formation by the Xiquets de Reus, a traditional Catalan casteller group.

The Diada celebrates Catalonia’s cultural identity, with Reus maintaining long-standing traditions through music, dance and community participation.

Residents and visitors are invited to attend the full programme, which reflects the city’s commitment to preserving Catalan heritage. Further details are available on the Ajuntament de Reus official website.
