Sabadell will mark the Diada Nacional de Catalunya, Catalonia’s national day, with an institutional ceremony at 10am on Friday 11 September at the lake bridge in Parc Catalunya. The Ajuntament de Sabadell, the city council, will formally open the floral tribute before nearly 60 local associations and political parties place their own bouquets.

Residents who want to attend can go directly to the lake bridge in Parc Catalunya from 10am. The public ceremony gives community organisations a shared space to take part in the city’s annual commemoration.

Flag raising, music and a manifesto

According to Ràdio Sabadell’s published programme, the event will begin with the raising of the senyera, the Catalan flag, while the Orfeó de Sabadell performs El cant de la senyera.

  • 10am: institutional ceremony begins at the Parc Catalunya lake bridge.
  • Opening: raising of the senyera accompanied by the Orfeó de Sabadell.
  • Manifesto: Joana Soler, president of Joventuts Musicals, will read the text.
  • Floral tribute: the Ajuntament de Sabadell will place its bouquet first, followed by nearly 60 associations and political parties.

Soler represents Joventuts Musicals, a music association celebrating its 70th anniversary this year.

Local groups join the city ceremony

Ràdio Sabadell reports that pro-independence organisations have not called a separate event in advance of the ceremony this year. They are expected to take part in the institutional event in Sabadell before attending the demonstration planned in Barcelona.

The same location hosted Sabadell’s main Diada floral tribute at 10am in 2025, when local organisations, political representatives and civic groups attended, according to reporting by iSabadell.
