The Riures comedy festival opened its third consecutive edition on Friday, 31 July 2026, at the Parc del Collet in Sant Antoni de Calonge, with sold-out shows marking strong public support for Catalan-language humour.
Organised by theatre and television production company Cal Tet, led by comedian Fel Faixedas, the festival runs until Sunday, 2 August, with support from the Calonge and Sant Antoni town council (Ajuntament de Calonge i Sant Antoni).
The opening night began at 8pm with monologist Marc Serrats performing his show L'hora final. Comedian Judit Martín followed at 10:45pm with her production Digamelón, a performance that has already sold out along with two other key events.
Saturday and Sunday Lineup
Saturday's programme features veteran Catalan comedians Màgic Andreu and Jordi LP in the first session, followed by Lloll Bertran with Jordi Andújar and Núria Cuyàs.
The festival concludes on Sunday with a live recording of the podcast Què t'ha passat? by Albert Om and Joan Maria Pou, followed by the premiere of Un xou no fa estiu, a show by Carles Xuriguera and Fel Faixedas, both of which are fully booked.
The festival aims to honour pioneers of Catalan comedy who paved the way for today’s performers, Faixedas said in a recent radio interview.
Tickets and On-Site Facilities
Individual tickets cost €20, while a two-show pass is available for €35. Despite high demand, some sessions may still have limited availability through the official cultural agenda portal.
The venue includes a dedicated 'village' area offering food and drink services throughout the festival weekend.
