Lasarte is marking its 20th anniversary in 2026, two decades after opening in January 2006 at the corner of Carrer Mallorca and Passeig de Gràcia. For diners, the restaurant remains a three-Michelin-star option at the Monument Hotel, at Mallorca 259 in Barcelona’s Eixample district.
The restaurant says it became the first in Barcelona to receive three Michelin stars in 2017, a distinction it has held since then. The Michelin Guide lists Lasarte as serving creative cuisine and places it in its highest price category.
“Perfection is not a destination; it is our journey.”
That statement appears on Lasarte’s official restaurant page, which identifies Martín Berasategui as the culinary creator of the project and Paolo Casagrande as its chef.
Anniversary dinners bring chefs from Germany and Austria
The anniversary programme began on 20 April with a six-hands dinner led by Casagrande alongside Sven Elverfeld, of Aqua in Wolfsburg, and Juan Amador, of Amador in Vienna. Each chef holds three Michelin stars, making nine stars represented in the kitchen for the occasion.
Two further collaborative dinners are planned as part of the 2026 celebrations. The restaurant’s announced programme includes:
- an opening six-hands dinner held on 20 April;
- a further dinner in July, with guest chefs to be announced;
- Lasarte & Friends on 16 September.
Lasarte is housed in the five-star Monument Hotel. Its official information names Joan Carles Ibáñez as restaurant manager, Antonio Coelho as maître d’ and Xavi Donnay as head pastry chef, alongside Casagrande.
Visitors seeking details of the anniversary dining programme can check the Lasarte restaurant website.
