Fourth Edition Honours Gaudí Legacy

The 'Reus 1900. Festa Modernista' will take place from 8 to 11 October 2026, celebrating the centenary of architect Antoni Gaudí’s death. The event, now in its fourth edition, was presented at the Gaudí Centre and will centre on the life and work of the Reus-born modernist master. This year’s festival includes new highlights such as a grand gala ball at El Círcol and a fashion parade by designer Ana de la Cruz along Carrer de Monterols.

Full Programme Unfolds Across Historic Venues

The festivities begin on Thursday 8 October with a performance by Camerata XXI at the Institut Salvador Vilaseca. Over the following days, more than 100 performers from Bravium Teatre, Germandat de Santa Llúcia i Sant Isidre, Orfeó Reusenc, and TEBAC will animate the streets and squares of Reus with historical recreations. Key cultural sites including Gaudí Centre, Palau de Bofarull, Casa Navàs, Escola Prat de la Riba, and Taller de l'Hipòlit Montseny will host events for all ages. Friday’s gala ball at El Círcol will feature live music by the MAGEMA Women's String and Piano Trio. On Saturday, the Casal Despertaferro will recreate a period tavern dinner, while cabaret group La Feréstega performs at Societat Recreativa La Palma. Outdoor events include the modernist parade by Ana de la Cruz and Amigues del 1900, and traditional games for children in Plaça de Prim.

Booking Opens Next Week

Ticket reservations for select events will open on Monday 28 September. Residents and visitors are encouraged to book early due to expected demand. Mataró is the guest city this year, represented by the Nau Gaudí, originally the cotton bleaching hall of the Cooperativa Obrera Mataronense, opened in 1883 and now home to the Bassat Collection of Catalan contemporary art from the second half of the 20th century.

The festival reflects the growing involvement of Reus’s cultural associations and citizens, showing off the city’s unique modernist heritage.

Reus mayor Sandra Guaita and city promotion councillor Noemí Llauradó praised the festival’s rapid consolidation and highlighted the increasing participation from local entities and residents.
