Vandellòs will host its annual Festa Major de Sant Cosme i Sant Damià from Thursday 24 to Sunday 27 September, featuring a blend of tradition, music, sport, and family activities.

The event is organised by the Centre Cultural, Esportiu i Recreatiu de Vandellòs (CCERV), with support from around 15 local associations and the Ajuntament de Vandellòs i l'Hospitalet de l'Infant, which is sponsoring the festivities.

Traditional highlights include the 29th edition of the Clotxada Popular, the 37th Gran Correfoc, the popular procession, the Homenatge a la Vella Pagesia, and the traditional ball de ram i fanalet. Proceeds from the latter will go to the Lliga contra el Càncer de les Comarques de Tarragona i Terres de l'Ebre, as is customary.

Tonight's Music and Cultural Line-Up

The festival kicks off on 24 September with the pregó, or opening speech, delivered by Montserrat Gavaldà Cabrejas, a longstanding resident and former pharmacist in the town. Gavaldà opened Vandellòs’s first pharmacy in 1986 and served for 33 years until 2019. She has also been the local delegate for the Lliga contra el Càncer for 31 years.

Mayor Assumpció Castellví praised Gavaldà as a woman deeply connected to the community, noting her professional and charitable contributions. The pregó begins at 19:00 at the poliesportiu pavilion and will be followed by the Banda Municipal de Música Clau de Vent.

Later that evening, Toni Albà will present his show Locus operandi at the same venue. The musical programme continues on Saturday night with a performance by Hotel Cochambre, followed by the Welcome Band, which will lead the traditional afternoon concert and dance.

On Sunday, the stage features CBH Show, Teaser – Tribut a la Trinca, a live tribute act celebrating the iconic Catalan comedy trio.
