The R1 Rodalies de Catalunya train line was suspended in both directions between Blanes and Maçanet-Massanes in Girona province on Sunday afternoon after a person was hit by a train.
Renfe, the train operating company, quickly organised alternative road transport between the two affected stations. This was put in place to help minimise disruption for passengers, according to officials.
The incident took place at 14:30 on Sunday. Train company sources said they hoped services would start again "as soon as possible".
Passenger Impact and Service Restoration
The suspension affects travellers using the R1 line, which connects coastal towns with Barcelona. Passengers travelling between Blanes and Maçanet-Massanes are advised to use the replacement bus services. Renfe is working to restore normal circulation on the line.
