Eight people were injured, one critically, in a multi-vehicle accident on the C-31 in Cubelles, Garraf, early on Sunday morning, according to the Medical Emergency System (SEM).
Five of those affected are in a serious condition, with one person critically injured and two others less seriously hurt. The incident led to the closure of the C-31 in both directions from 6am, officials from the Catalan Traffic Service said.
Emergency Response and Hospital Transfers
Five units from the Generalitat Fire Brigade attended the scene. Firefighters rescued individuals trapped in the two vehicles involved and helped clear the road. The SEM dispatched ten ambulances to the site.
All injured individuals were taken to various hospitals across the province of Barcelona for treatment. The road closure caused significant disruption for travellers in the area.
