Two Mossos d'Esquadra officers from the Operational Resources Area (ARRO) in Central Catalonia recently had an emotional reunion in Lleida with a two-year-old girl and her family. The officers had saved the girl's life months earlier after a drowning incident.
The reunion took place at the Lleida police station. The officers had performed the Heimlich manoeuvre on the child, who was choking at the time. "The little one was drowning, and at that moment we quickly grabbed her and started hitting her back while performing the Heimlich manoeuvre," one officer explained.
Life-Saving Intervention
The incident occurred several months ago, when the quick actions of the ARRO agents proved critical. Their immediate response helped prevent a tragedy, according to officials. The family expressed their profound gratitude during the meeting, highlighting the lasting impact of the officers' intervention.
This type of reunion is not common, but it shows the human side of police work and the strong bonds that can form between officers and the people they help. The Mossos d'Esquadra often engage in community outreach, and such stories reinforce public trust.
