Maria Antònia Bonany, an adopted daughter of Figueres and a contributor to EL 9 NOU, has been awarded the Bonastruc ça Porta prize by the Official College of Physicians of Girona. Bonany will receive the honour alongside the Paediatrics Department of Dr. Josep Trueta University Hospital and radiologist Pere Solà.

The Bonastruc ça Porta prize recognises professionals and institutions who have made significant contributions to improving health and quality of life in the Girona region, according to the College. The award ceremony is scheduled for 20 May at the College of Physicians' headquarters in Girona.

Bonany is a notable figure in the health sector within the Girona demarcation. Her career has focused on scientific research and dissemination. She has also actively collaborated with various institutions and media outlets, including EL 9 NOU, where she has published opinion pieces and informative articles on health topics.

The Paediatrics Department at Trueta Hospital has been recognised for its high standard in paediatric care and its role in training new professionals. Pere Solà, a radiologist, is known for his long career in diagnostic imaging and research in radiology.
