Barcelona will host the third edition of the Mediterranean Economic and Social Forum (FESM) in June, following previous gatherings in Valencia and Malaga, according to Diari de Girona.

The official presentation for the event took place yesterday in Madrid, with key economic and political figures attending. The FESM provides a platform for dialogue and collaboration among Mediterranean basin countries.

Organisers will look at sustainable development, new ideas, and business cooperation. Barcelona was chosen for its long history as a business and innovation centre, and its strategic position as a gateway to the Mediterranean.

Key Participants and Focus

The forum expects to bring together hundreds of business leaders, investors, academics, and government representatives. They will discuss challenges and opportunities facing the Mediterranean region in the coming years.

Confirmed speakers include Aitor Moll, CEO of Freixenet. Representatives from institutions like CaixaForum, which is helping to organise the event, will also participate.
