The Lleida County Council’s Tourism Board estimates that hotels, rural homes, and bungalows in the Pyrenees and Terres de Lleida will reach approximately 75% occupancy over the three-day Pilar bridge holiday. The vice-president of the board, Juan Antonio Serrano, said prospects for this first autumn break are positive, with visitors expected to enjoy the full range of cultural and outdoor activities on offer.
Serrano highlighted that these dates coincide with the European Heritage Days, featuring dozens of organised events across the region. He also noted this will be the final weekend of the active tourism season on the Noguera Pallaresa river, a key destination for white-water rafting and hydrospeed adventures. According to the Manual d’agències receptives del Pirineu i les Terres de Lleida, the activity takes place near Llavorsí in Pallars Sobirà and includes over 14 km of navigable water with rapids ranging from class II to IV depending on the season.
Regional Breakdown of Occupancy Forecasts
- Pyrenean municipalities: 70–80% hotel occupancy
- Terres de Lleida: 40% hotel occupancy
- Rural tourism homes across the region: 85% occupancy
- Bungalows: 75% occupancy
The active tourism campaign on the Noguera Pallaresa will officially end on 15 October, when the agreement regulating river flow concludes, according to the official manual published by ara Lleida. Serrano confirmed that local operators currently report solid booking levels ahead of the closure.
We have good perspectives for this first autumn bridge. Tourists will be able to enjoy the full tourism offering of the region.
