400 Drones to Light Up the Sky on 30 August

A major aerial spectacle will headline this year’s Festa Major in Manresa. On Sunday 30 August at 10pm, 400 drones will take flight above Parc de l’Agulla in a choreographed light show created by the local company Crostal Aerial. The display, which will reach heights between 30 and 120 metres, will form 16 images drawn from the city’s collective cultural memory. The drone show precedes the traditional Castell de Focs fireworks display, set to last nearly 20 minutes with over 360 kilograms of pyrotechnics launched to Catalan music by Pirotècnia Tomàs. This event marks the largest innovation in the 2026 programme.

Day-by-Day Highlights Across Nine Days

The festival begins on Sunday 23 August with the Diumenge de Moscada, a family-focused day centred on children’s activities, including the Infantil Correfoc and workshops by Xàldiga Infantil where children can dress as devils or drummers and take photos with festival figures. On Wednesday 26 August, the Tap’Antic evening combines gastronomy and heritage. Restaurants in the historic centre will offer special tapas, while giants parade from Plaça Cots to Plaça Major. The main programme runs from Thursday 27 to Monday 31 August, packed with street performances, sardanas, dance, film screenings and live music. Saturday 29 August features a full day of sport, culture and family events, culminating in a concert by pop artist Miki Núñez. Friday 28 August includes the Festival Microscopies and Manresa Sona B, alongside family-friendly shows and the Gegantnit!, where giant figures dance through the streets.

The Festa Major is for everyone. We’ve programmed acts for all tastes, tradition, music, community and celebration.

The final night, Monday 1 September, closes with the anticipated Correfoc and the Ball del Correfoc in Plaça Major, introducing new perimeter torches, aerial fire effects and spark fountains.

How to Attend Key Events

For the fifth consecutive year, the Ajuntament de Manresa is holding a lottery for access to municipal balconies at number 5 Plaça Major, offering prime views of the Correfoc and Mostra del Correfoc. Applications are managed through the city’s official channels. Residents and visitors can consult the full schedule, including exact times and locations, via the Ajuntament de Manresa website.
