The Castellers de Sant Cugat have resumed rehearsals with renewed energy, preparing for a demanding final stretch of their 2026 season. After a brief pause, the group is focused on finishing strong, with nine performances scheduled across Catalonia in the last three months.
The season began traditionally on 3 March at the hermitage of Sant Medir, where the group wore their green Collserola shirts for the first time this year. According to their published calendar, they are set to perform 25 times in total during 2026, including eight appearances in their home town. The first of these was on 12 April in the Volpelleres district, with others planned for Sant Ponç, Festa Major, Llotgeta, Valldoreix and their own colla diada on 15 November.
Outside Sant Cugat, highlights include four performances in different Barcelona neighbourhoods, three in Sabadell and three in Terrassa. The group will also travel to Llinars del Vallès, Sitges, Vilanova i la Geltrú, Salt and Sant Boi de Llobregat. A key moment came on 11 September in Llinars, where they performed alongside the Xics de Granollers, opting for a 5 of 7 over their initially planned 3 of 8 due to technical adjustments.
Final Acts in Valldoreix, Tarragona and Beyond
Following Llinars, the colla appeared again with the Xics de Granollers and the Matossers de Molins de Rei in Valldoreix on 17 September. There, they aimed to improve on their previous performance and tested a prototype of a 3 of 9 with folre, a structure that could mark a significant technical leap.
Next stops include Sitges and the Tarragona Castells Competition, followed by appearances in Sabadell, Vilanova and Mataró. The season concludes with a double event: first at their own diada in Sant Cugat on 15 November alongside the Castellers de Sants and Minyons de Terrassa, then in Terrassa a week later.
Collaborations and Community
The group will share the stage multiple times with well-known teams including Castellers de Sants, Sabadell, Vila de Gràcia and Minyons de Terrassa. Less frequent partners this year include Joves Xiquets de Valls, Nens del Vendrell and Castellers del Baix Montseny.
