Albert Dalmau, the Generalitat’s Minister for the Presidency, is among the invited guests expected on the Casa de la Vila balcony for the Sant Fèlix diada in Vilafranca del Penedès on 30 August.
For residents and visitors planning to follow the central human-tower event, the display in Plaça de la Vila will feature Castellers de Vilafranca, Colla Vella dels Xiquets de Valls, Colla Joves Xiquets de Valls and Colla Jove Xiquets de Tarragona.

Vilafranca’s Ajuntament, or town council, has also invited Juan López-Dóriga, Spain’s consul general in Brussels, and Hubert Schnurr, mayor of Bühl, the German town twinned with Vilafranca.
Other invited representatives include elected members from the Penedès serving in the Parliament of Catalonia, the Senate and Barcelona Provincial Council, along with institutional representatives from Valls and Tarragona.

Four groups and a co-ordinator in Plaça de la Vila
The Festa Major administrators have retained the same four groups for a third consecutive year. The event is one of the leading dates in the castells calendar, the Catalan tradition of building human towers.
Jordi Bertran will again serve as cap de plaça, the on-site co-ordinator linking the groups before and during the performance. His role includes dealing with incidents involving the castells and liaising with the municipal Civil Protection service over emergencies.
The four groups are due to perform in Plaça de la Vila on 30 August, with Bertran co-ordinating the day’s display.
