Barcelona will host the Advanced Maritime Technology (AMT) Expo & Conference from 2027, when the event moves from RAI Amsterdam to Fira de Barcelona, Montjuïc. The next edition is scheduled for 16 and 17 June 2027, according to the organisers.
The relocation is being presented as a long-term step for the event, with organisers saying they want closer links to investment, research and industrial development in maritime technology. Roz Guarnori, Portfolio Director at UKi Media & Events, said Barcelona offers a leading international port, institutional support and a fast-growing blue economy cluster. Emma Cobos, Director of Innovation and Blue Economy Strategy at the Port of Barcelona, said the port fully supports the move and pointed to the city’s mix of public and private investment, industry, technology and research partners.
Cobos also referred to BlueTechPort and the planned Maritime Technology Park, both linked to the Port of Barcelona, as part of more than €100 million in joint investment. Adrià Jover, President of the International Electric Maritime Association (IEMA), said Barcelona is the right home for the AMT because of the city’s long-term commitment to the blue economy and the organisation’s own base in the city.

Raquel Gil, Fifth Deputy Mayor for Social Rights, Economic Promotion and Work, Feminisms and Democratic Memory, said UNESCO named Barcelona the world capital of the sustainable ocean economy in June 2025.
