Lea Kyle to headline fourth Figueres Magic Festival

The Figueres International Magic Festival returns for its fourth edition from 25 to 27 September, headlined by French illusionist Lea Kyle, current world champion of rapid costume change magic. The event, organised by local magician Raül Black with support from the Ajuntament de Figueres (Figueres City Council) and the Girona Provincial Council, will feature artists from France, Belgium, Cuba, Extremadura and Catalonia. The programme includes large-scale stage shows, close-up magic, street performances, workshops and family-friendly acts across multiple venues in the city.

This year we’re bringing some of the most recognised international artists to Figueres, across very different disciplines within illusionism. The international gala is a highlight, but we also want the public to discover close-up magic, street acts and shows for children and families.

Raül Black, festival director and local illusionist, made the remarks at the official launch held at the Museum of Toys of Catalonia on Friday.

Record attendance expected

The festival has grown steadily since its debut in 2023, when it drew 5,000 attendees. Attendance rose to over 6,800 in 2024 and reached 7,100 in 2025, a 42% increase over three editions. Last year’s event sold over 3,000 tickets and saw full capacity at all limited-seating shows. Pilar Sánchez, councillor for Fairs and Festivals at Figueres City Council, said:

The city council continues to support the festival following the success of the first three editions. It is now fully consolidated, attracting growing audiences and international attention, putting Figueres on the magic map. It’s an added value that the festival’s creator, Raül, is from Figueres. The festival inaugurates the autumn events season in the city.

International gala to feature world champions

The International Magic Gala, the festival’s centrepiece, takes place on 26 September at 8pm at the Municipal Theatre el Jardí. It will feature high-end production with state-of-the-art lighting and two large LED screens for close-up views. Headliner Lea Kyle is internationally known for blending illusion, fashion and rapid costume changes. She will be joined by Florian Sainvet of France, world champion of manipulation and futuristic visual effects, and Cuban artist Ernesto Planas, famed for his umbrella magic routines. Other performers include Víctor Zerro, combining escapology and magic challenges; Belgian company Elastic, fusing clowning, humour and magical arts; and Mag Marín, award-winning stage magician noted for his theatrical and comedic style. The line-up is completed by Patri Zener and French juggler Francesca, world champion of juggling. Tickets for the gala start at €18.

Full programme details

The festival opens on Friday 25 September with a magical dinner at Vinoteca El Terrazo, featuring performances by five participating artists. On Saturday 26 September, a magic workshop led by Cristina from Magicolandia begins at 10am in Sala Erato. The first street act, by Patri Zener, starts at 12:45pm in Gala and Salvador Dalí Square. At 5pm, Capuchins Auditorium hosts a close-up magic gala starring Mario, world champion in the discipline. Free street performances follow: Víctor Zerro at 5:15pm on La Rambla, and Brando and Silvana at 6:45pm in the Town Hall Square. After the evening’s International Gala, a late-night session of cabaret-style magic takes place at Casino Menestral until midnight, accompanied by a special cocktail menu. On Sunday 27 September, a second magic workshop by Cristina from Magicolandia runs in Sala Erato. Brando and Silvana perform at 11:45am in Gala and Salvador Dalí Square, followed by Víctor Zerro at 12:45pm in Town Hall Square. Mario presents a second close-up magic show at 5pm at Capuchins Auditorium. The festival concludes at 6pm at La Cate with a children’s gala and the dream-themed show *Hai, the Fisherman of Dreams* by company Giramagic. Additional activities include a film screening in collaboration with Cineclub Diòptria and an exhibition at the Museum of Toys of Catalonia on posters featuring female illusionists.

Social and educational outreach

The festival continues its commitment to accessibility, bringing magic to audiences beyond traditional venues. Last year, educational activities reached over 1,800 schoolchildren in Figueres through performances at the Municipal Theatre and in schools. Social outreach included shows at Els Arcs and Asil Vilallonga care homes and, for the first time, at Figueres Hospital in partnership with the Fundació Salut Empordà, engaging over 300 people. The festival maintains its focus on equality, inclusion and sustainability. In 2025, women made up 50% of the artistic team, 62.9% of technical staff and 60% of the advisory council.
