A 46-year-old woman died after being hit by a car while walking on the A-2 motorway in Bell-lloc d'Urgell, in the Pla d'Urgell region of Lleida. The Mossos d'Esquadra, Catalonia's police force, received the alert at 22:10 on 30 April, and are now investigating the circumstances of the incident.

The victim was a resident of Lleida. She was on the road at night, a time of poor visibility, for reasons that remain unknown, according to officials. The accident occurred at kilometre point 474 of the A-2, travelling towards Mollerussa.

Following the incident, two Mossos patrols and four units from the Medical Emergency System (SEM) were activated. However, when emergency services arrived at the scene, they could not save the victim's life.
