Police Investigate Circumstances
The exact circumstances of the fatal collision are currently unknown. Valls Local Police have opened an investigation to clarify how the incident occurred. Officials are gathering information to determine the sequence of events leading to the woman's death.
This incident follows another serious pedestrian accident earlier in May. On 2 May, an 89-year-old woman was hit by a car in Manresa after the vehicle mounted the pavement. The driver did not stop to help the victim and left the scene on Tres Roures street in the Saldes-Plaza Catalunya neighbourhood. Witnesses alerted emergency services around 12:45pm.
Manresa Local Police and SEM ambulances were dispatched, transporting the injured woman to Sant Joan de Déu Hospital. She arrived in a serious condition with fractures to her femur and injuries to her hip and face. Police in Manresa launched an investigation to understand the circumstances of that hit-and-run and to locate the driver involved.
