The Local Police of Valls, in the Tarragona region, have officially joined the Catalan Radiocommunications and Emergency Security Network (RESCAT). This follows a collaboration agreement signed between the Department of Interior and Public Security of the Generalitat de Catalunya and Valls City Council.

This integration will significantly improve operational coordination for the Valls police force. They will now have better links with the Mossos d'Esquadra, Civil Protection, and other emergency services across Catalonia, according to officials.

RESCAT is a critical tool for ensuring secure, stable, and coordinated communications among various operators during emergencies. Joining the network will allow Valls Local Police to respond more effectively to serious incidents, civil protection emergencies, joint police operations, and situations requiring direct and immediate communication with other agencies.

Boosting Communication Systems

To start, Valls City Council has rented 15 radio terminals and necessary accessories. This ensures the service can begin immediately while the definitive tender process for acquiring 20 transmitters and their equipment is completed.

This action addresses the need for a strong and reliable communication system. Recent emergencies have shown that effective response depends on uninterrupted communications and real-time connection among all involved parties. The move is a step forward in modernising operational resources and improving public safety in Valls.

It strengthens the police's ability to coordinate, prevent, and respond to emergencies. This also solidifies a working model based on cooperation between administrations and public security services, officials said.
