Valls, in the Alt Camp region, will host the 69th Firagost, the Catalan Agricultural Exhibition Fair, on 5 and 6 August. This event will transform the city into a central meeting point for Catalonia's agricultural and agri-food sectors. The programme combines tradition, innovation, gastronomy, and popular culture, drawing 150 exhibitors and thousands of visitors to the city's streets.

Organised by the Valls Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services and Valls City Council, Firagost shows its commitment to local produce, economic growth, and the transformation of the agricultural and food sectors. The fair, a key event for the agri-food sector in Camp de Tarragona, focuses on innovation, gastronomy, human towers, and promoting local products.

City Transformed for Exhibitors

Visitors will find a wide range of products and services, including farm produce, agri-food items, wines and cavas, artisan foods, agricultural machinery, vehicles, agricultural technology, and crafts. The city will become a large open-air exhibition space, with improved organisation and redistribution of display areas.

These areas will be spread across several zones. Carrer de la Cort will feature farm fruits, agricultural products, wines and cavas, plants, flowers, and herbal products. Passeig de l'Estació will host automotive displays, mobility solutions, agricultural machinery, agricultural technology, bioeconomy exhibits, and other exhibitors. Carrers del Teatre, Jaume Huguet, and the Pati area will offer artisan food and various other exhibitors. Plaça del Quarter will host the New Artisans' Market, while Carrer Germans Sant Gabriel will house institutional stands.

Wine Market and AGROINNOVA Sessions

A key addition this year is the second edition of the Alt Camp Wine and Cava Market. This market will take place at the Pati de Sant Roc of the Institut d'Estudis Vallencs. It will run on Tuesday, 5 August, from 6pm to 10pm, and on Wednesday, 6 August, from 6pm to 9pm. This space will combine tastings, educational content, and direct sales, aiming to encourage the consumption of local wine products. The Alt Camp Regional Council and Grup Micros, official sponsors, support the market.

The third AGROINNOVA Sessions will also take place. This area focuses on agricultural technology, bioeconomy, and food innovation, featuring six conferences and technical sessions for industry professionals. AGROINNOVA is becoming a space for knowledge and exchange, with new collaborations this year, including Cajamar.

Activities for All Ages

Firagost maintains its multi-sector and family-friendly character, offering commercial, cultural, and leisure activities for all ages. Highlights include wine tasting with a porró, a sled-pulling competition, a race for carriers of hazelnut sacks, hot air balloon flights at El Vilar field, a human tower inflatable in Plaça del Blat, children's games in Plaça del Museu Casteller, a mobility park at Eugeni d'Ors school, an Art Market, and various exhibitions.

The inaugural ceremony will be held at Valls City Council on Tuesday, 5 August, at 7pm, with authorities and representatives from the business, agricultural, and institutional sectors present. The closing human tower performance will take place on Wednesday, 6 August, at 8:15pm in Plaça del Blat, featuring the Colla Vella dels Xiquets de Valls and the Colla Joves Xiquets de Valls.
