Around 200 people participated in the May Day demonstration organised by the Unió Sindical Obrera de Catalunya (USOC) in Barcelona, according to figures from the Guàrdia Urbana.
Maria Recuero, the general secretary of USOC, told reporters that there is a need to "humanise work". This was also the slogan of the demonstration, the union reported via X.
Call for Humanised Work
During her final speech, Recuero emphasised this idea. She encouraged all demonstrators to defend the humanisation of work and life "whatever the cost". The union's message focused on improving working conditions and ensuring a better balance for employees in Catalonia.
