Manresa, Central Catalonia, hosted the ninth University-Business Forum at UPC Manresa on Wednesday, 7 May 2026, drawing a record 34 companies and professional organisations. The event, held on the university's sports court, served as a key meeting point for students, faculty, and businesses in the Central Catalonia region.

The forum ran from midday into the early afternoon, starting with an opening ceremony led by José Miguel Jiménez, director of UPC Manresa, and Ariadna Llorens Garcia, UPC's vice-rector for Social Responsibility and Equality. Throughout the day, attendees engaged in networking, explored job opportunities, and made professional contacts for internships and future employment.

Strengthening University-Industry Links

More than 400 students from UPC Manresa visited the forum to learn about career paths, business projects, and collaboration possibilities with the private sector. Teaching and research staff also used the gathering to look at new ways to cooperate with local companies, according to organisers.

The organisers highlighted that the forum has become the main platform for connection between the university and businesses in Central Catalonia, with participation growing each year. A festive atmosphere and good weather helped the day, which included a networking lunch for participants and companies.

Diverse Companies and Student Involvement

Participating companies and entities included Airplan, AMES, Ampans, AUSA, Avinent Group, DENSO, Eurecat, La Farga, Masats, Molins, Oliva Torras, Seidor, and Vilaseca. Professional colleges and several UPC Manresa student associations, such as Dynamics UPC Manresa, Hairpin, and Synergy Racing Team, also took part.

This continued growth shows the forum's increasing importance in linking academic talent with the needs of the regional economy. Future editions are expected to build on this success, further integrating students into the professional world.
