Jéssica Albiach, president of Comuns in the Catalan Parliament, met with families of residents at the Font dels Capellans care home in Manresa on Thursday. She committed to demanding that the Catalan government release the agreed funding for improvements to the facility.

The meeting, held at the local neighbourhood association office, involved about 15 relatives of elderly residents. Families had previously voiced concerns through Regió7 about the care home's poor condition and management issues.

Albiach's commitment means she will push for the allocated budget for the care home's upgrades to proceed, regardless of whether a new budget is approved. Families are also calling for an urgent inspection of the facility.

Families Call for Urgent Inspection

The complaints from families highlight significant concerns about the quality of care and living conditions at the Font dels Capellans home. These issues prompted the meeting with Albiach, who represents a key political voice in Catalonia.

The next steps will involve Albiach formally pressing the government for the funds. Families will continue to advocate for an immediate inspection to assess the reported deficiencies.
