The incident occurred near the IES Joan Corominas school. The alert was received at 08.45, and nine firefighting units have been deployed. Emergency crews are operating under the hypothesis that the man approached the riverbank to observe the floodwaters, lost his footing, and was carried off by the current.

Widespread Emergency Response Across Region

The Sistema d'Emergències Mèdiques (SEM) has responded to 271 alerts and treated 237 people as of Sunday morning. Of those, 51 were transferred to hospital facilities. Juanjo Verge, head of the SEM intervention group, highlighted disruptions at hospitals in Granollers and Blanes. Residents are advised to contact the 061 emergency medical service before seeking hospital care unless in urgent need, to avoid overloading medical centres already affected by the storm.

The situation remains critical in several municipalities, with ongoing evacuations and rescue operations.
