Lleida is once again the starting point for the Tren dels Llacs, which began its 2026 season on Saturday, 11 April. The tourist train runs 89 kilometres between Lleida and La Pobla de Segur, crossing Segrià, Noguera and Pallars Jussà.

The route passes the Noguera Pallaresa river, several reservoirs and the Montsec mountain range. The journey takes about two hours and includes four lakes, 40 tunnels and 75 bridges. A tourist guide travels on board each service, and Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) manages the train.

For 2026, 29 services are planned. The Historic Train will run 23 trips, using 1960s diesel locomotives and vintage ye-yé carriages. These departures are scheduled for Saturdays from 11 April to 27 June, then again from 22 August to 31 October.

The Panoramic Train will offer six journeys between 4 July and 8 August. It has large windows, air conditioning, accessible spaces and mobile charging points. Tickets include a return journey on the same Saturday, or passengers can return to Lleida on a regular line train within the following six days using the same ticket.

Tickets are available in advance at turistren.cat. More information about FGC services is available on the FGC website.

At the destination, travellers can visit the Pyrenees Wildlife and Nature Interpretation Centre, the Raier Space, the Oil Mill or the Portet Liqueur Factory, among other places. Bicycles can also be taken on board. The service also gives access to the new Turistren Passport, which brings together six FGC tourist transport services on one digital platform for the first time, including the Cement Train, the Montserrat Rack Railway and funiculars, and the Núria Rack Railway.

Anyone who buys a ticket for one of these services receives an email link to register for the digital passport. Journeys are stamped on the passport and can earn discounts of up to 20% on the next chosen transport. Those who complete all six journeys before 31 December 2027 will receive a gift and be entered into a prize draw. For more local coverage, see our news page.
