Three men aged 20, 30 and 32 were arrested on suspicion of breaking into a parked car in Tarragona's El Serrallo neighbourhood on Thursday night, according to El Caso, which cited Mossos d'Esquadra, Catalonia's regional police.

The incident matters to car owners in El Serrallo because the vehicle's window was broken and its interior searched. Police contacted the owner, who was advised to check what had been taken before making a formal complaint.

Witness report led officers to Josep Maria Malató street

A patrol carrying out preventive work received a report at about 10.25pm that three unknown people were searching a car parked on Josep Maria Malató street.

Officers found a broken window and the vehicle's interior disturbed. They then searched the surrounding streets using a description provided by the witness.


Three men found on Cardenal Vidal i Barraquer street

The patrol later found three people matching the description sitting on a bench on Cardenal Vidal i Barraquer street with four other people. One of the men had a bleeding hand, El Caso reported.

During identification checks, the three men admitted the break-in and said the four other people on the bench had not been involved, according to the report.
