Staff relocation follows corporate reshaping
Banc Sabadell plans to transfer hundreds of professionals from its current offices at Plaça de Catalunya in Sabadell to its corporate centre in Sant Cugat del Vallès. The move, confirmed by the bank on Tuesday 29 September 2026, forms part of a broader transformation of its main corporate sites in Catalonia. The relocation will take place once renovation works at the CBS building in Sant Cugat are complete, a process expected to last approximately two years. During this period, staff currently based at the Plaça de Catalunya headquarters will remain in place until the new facilities are ready for occupation.
New innovation hub to open by 2030
As part of its long-term strategy, Banc Sabadell will reinforce its presence in Sant Cugat with the construction of a new Project Hub dedicated to strategic initiatives in artificial intelligence, private banking, and digital banking. The facility, adjacent to the existing corporate campus, is scheduled to become operational in 2030 and will feature flexible workspaces designed for hybrid and agile working models. In the interim, the bank will launch a temporary hub in mid-October 2026 to support ongoing innovation projects. This pilot initiative follows positive results from earlier trials aimed at optimising workspace usage across its operations.

Local economic impact
Sant Cugat’s municipal government has welcomed the continued investment by major employers in the municipality. The city recently hosted the fifth edition of 'Experiències Úniques', an event that included guided tours of Banc Sabadell’s operational centre, highlighting the institution’s role in the local economy (Sala de Premsa Sant Cugat). The bank's principal operational base has remained in Sant Cugat throughout recent years, even as its official registered headquarters returned to Sabadell in 2025 after seven years in Alicante, a move tied to political developments following the 2017 independence referendum (El Periódico).
