Ten people have been arrested in Barcelona, with nine others reported, for their involvement in 115 acts of graffiti vandalism on trains across the city's public transport network. The incidents affected FGC, Renfe, and Metro de Barcelona services, according to the Mossos d'Esquadra.

The economic cost of the damage from these graffiti attacks is over €377,000, officials said. The arrests follow an investigation into widespread defacement of railway carriages and infrastructure.

Police Action Against Vandalism

The Mossos d'Esquadra led the operation, which identified a group responsible for numerous incidents. The police action aims to curb the significant financial burden placed on public transport operators and, ultimately, taxpayers due to these acts of vandalism. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities working to prevent future occurrences.
