Mossos d'Esquadra officers arrested a teenager on Saturday night in Barcelona's Raval neighbourhood, Ciutat Vella district, in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man. Police were alerted to an incident on Carrer de la Cera just before midnight.
Emergency services, including Mossos, Guardia Urbana, firefighters, and the Medical Emergency System (SEM), responded to the scene. The SEM transported the victim in a critical condition to a hospital, where he later died. The alleged perpetrator was located and arrested by the Guardia Urbana shortly after the incident.
Investigation Underway
The Mossos' Criminal Investigation Division has taken charge of the enquiry. The investigation is currently under a secrecy order, according to officials.
This incident marks the second fatal stabbing in Catalonia within a 24-hour period. Earlier on Saturday morning, a woman was stabbed to death in Esplugues de Llobregat. The suspect in that case fled but was later apprehended on Barcelona's Avinguda Diagonal. Mossos have ruled out gender violence in the Esplugues de Llobregat case.
