Free Event Features Podcast Screening and Panel on UFOs

'Montserrat, una ficció sonora', the award-winning Catalan-language sound fiction by Jordi Domènech, will be presented at the Sitges Film Festival on Sunday 11 October from 6pm to 8pm at Mercat Vell in Sitges. The event, which is free and does not require prior booking, will include an audition of three episodes from the series. It follows the story of a Mossos d'Esquadra officer who begins an investigation into the death of a young altar boy on Montserrat mountain, blending mystery and science fiction with the real-life monthly UFO gatherings held there on the 11th of each month.

Panel Discussion and Post-Event Excursion Planned

After the screening, a panel discussion titled 'UFOs and Montserrat' will take place featuring Sebastià d’Arbó, journalist and filmmaker; David Ayén, ufologist; Arnau Tordera, a regular attendee of the Montserrat UFO meetups; and Jordi Domènech, the creator of the podcast.

The audio drama won the 2026 Sonor Award for Best Direction and Sound Design.

Attendees will then have the opportunity to join an organised excursion from Sitges to Montserrat, concluding at the esplanade where UFO sightings are commonly reported. The full experience aims to blend fiction with local myth and cultural phenomenon. More information about the festival programme is available via the Sitges Film Festival's official schedule.
