In Baix Empordà, environmental group SOS Costa Brava has filed two administrative complaints over pollution incidents detected near Castell-Cap Roig, in Catalonia.

In a statement, the federation said the complaints concern a protected natural space. One complaint was sent to the Catalan Water Agency (ACA), with concerns about possible problems in the sanitation and purification system.

The second complaint was submitted to the Directorate General of Environmental Policies and Natural Environment, the body responsible for natural spaces. SOS Costa Brava says the pollution may have affected an area protected as a natural site of interest.

Castell-Cap Roig is a significant natural area in Baix Empordà, with biodiversity and landscape value. The complaints seek to prompt checks on the source of the pollution and the extent of any contamination.

Both bodies are expected to review the complaints. If they proceed, the case could lead to inspections or remedial action in the area. For more local coverage, see our news page.
