Solsona will open its summer calendar with the Corpus Festival, known locally as the Little Major Festival, from 4 to 7 June. The programme brings together tradition, popular culture and local talent, with events continuing across the city throughout June.

The festival begins on Thursday, 4 June, with the opening of the exhibition El Corpus de Solsona: 600 anys de tradició at the Solsona Museum. The display looks at the history and development of the celebration. For more local coverage, see News.

On Friday, 5 June, Corpus day will feature the traditional procession, with the giants, nans and balls de bastons of Solsona. In the afternoon, Plaça de Sant Pere will host the Nit de Foc concert, with performances by colles de diables and fire beasts.

Saturday, 6 June, is set aside for popular culture, with the Fira d’Artesania i Productes Locals in Plaça Major. The day also includes children’s workshops and demonstrations of old trades.

The festival closes on Sunday, 7 June, with the Diada Castellera in Plaça de la Vila, featuring some of Catalonia’s leading colles. In the afternoon, the Grup Folklòric Solsoní will perform a traditional dance show.

Beyond the Corpus events, concerts, theatre, exhibitions and workshops will take place across Solsona during June. The organisers say the aim is to recover and promote festive heritage while giving local talent a wider platform. More official information is available from the Solsona tourism website and the Solsona Museum.
