VIA Empresa’s guide identifies six independent gelaterias in Barcelona, ranging from a century-old El Born business to newer shops in Gràcia and Sant Antoni. For residents and visitors choosing where to stop, the list provides named neighbourhoods and several street addresses, although it is presented by its author as a personal selection rather than a ranking.

The six venues include options for traditional flavours, seasonal recipes and vegan sorbets. La Campana is listed in El Born, while Delacrem and El Gelat are in Eixample, and three of the guide’s choices have locations in or near Gràcia.

  • La Campana: Carrer de la Princesa, 36, and Carrer de Flassaders, 15, El Born.
  • Delacrem: Enric Granados and Consell de Cent, plus Passeig de Sant Joan, 59.
  • El Gelat: Rambla de Catalunya, 2–4.
  • Hijos de Nata: Plaça de Gal·la Placídia, Gràcia.
  • Pot Helados: Martínez de la Rosa, 65, Gràcia, and Parlament, 37, Sant Antoni.
  • Paral·lelo Gelato: Carrer de Sèneca, at the entrance to Gràcia.

El Born and Eixample: established names and a new opening

La Campana has traded on Carrer de la Princesa since 1922

According to VIA Empresa, La Campana began as a nougat business in Xixona, Alicante, in 1890, before Francisco Mira Miralles moved the business to Barcelona. Its ice creams and horchata, a chilled tiger-nut drink, were added during the 1950s.

The guide says the business is now run by the fourth generation of the family, Bea and Laura Ferrer Mira and their mother, Maria Dolors. It names house-made horchata, natural-fruit sorbets, Catalan cream ice cream, nougat, pistachio and dark chocolate among its choices, as well as vegan and lactose-free options.

Delacrem makes ice cream daily

Delacrem opened on Enric Granados in 2010 under Turin-born Massimo Pignata, VIA Empresa reports. The business also has a production space and shop at Passeig de Sant Joan, 59.

The guide reports that Delacrem uses seasonal ingredients and does not add artificial flavourings or colourings. Its full menu is described as suitable for coeliacs, with vegan sorbets also available; the guide singles out stracciatella and an affogato made with coffee and hazelnut ice cream.

El Gelat is listed at Rambla de Catalunya 2–4

VIA Empresa says El Gelat opened in August 2026, founded by Catalan pastry chef Albert Roca and Lluís Cintas, co-founder of the OríGenes food festival. Roca won Spain’s artisan ice-cream championship in 2022, according to the guide.

“What does the Moon taste like?”Albert Roca, describing the question behind his 2022 competition creation, as quoted by VIA Empresa

The menu is divided into Classics, Seasonal and Collection ranges. VIA Empresa lists Mango Campió, made with mango, rose tea and almond nougatine, and Citric Game, combining lemon, grapefruit, milk chocolate, ginger and lime; it also reports that almost 45% of the offer is vegan.

Gràcia and Sant Antoni choices include Argentine and Italian projects

Hijos de Nata uses fresh milk from Sant Fruitós de Bages

Hijos de Nata on Plaça de Gal·la Placídia was founded by Argentine designer Barb, her partner Gerard, Leo Gibaut and Gibaut’s wife, the guide says. It reports that the shop offers about 20 flavours made with fresh milk delivered daily from the Cal Porta farm in Sant Fruitós de Bages.

VIA Empresa also reports that the business has received a Solete distinction from the Guía Repsol, the Spanish dining guide, and is preparing a second shop on Carrer Rubinstein in Sant Gervasi.

Pot Helados has two Barcelona shops

Argentine business Pot Helados opened its first Barcelona premises in May 2025 at Martínez de la Rosa, 65, in Gràcia, according to the guide. A second shop followed at Parlament, 37, in Sant Antoni, in March 2026.

The menu has 18 seasonally rotating flavours, VIA Empresa reports, including Reus hazelnut, Lleida pistachio and Girona honey. It describes sabayon, made with egg yolk, sugar and sweet wine, as the shop’s defining flavour, while pistachio is its most requested option.

Paral·lelo Gelato serves seasonal combinations

Paral·lelo Gelato was founded on Carrer de Sèneca in 2017 by four childhood friends from San Remo: Matteo Reggio, Gianluca and Francesco Guerrucci, and Marco Giancaterino. Reggio trained at the Università dei Sapori in Perugia, VIA Empresa says.

Alongside strawberry, pistachio and hazelnut, the guide lists black sesame, saffron, curry yoghurt, avocado with lime and Tabasco, and smoked cheddar with bacon among its combinations. It also has a permanent outlet at Time Out Market Barcelona in Port Vell, where it serves brioche with two scoops of ice cream.

Those planning a visit can use the street addresses above to choose the nearest stop, with La Campana’s El Born terrace located at Carrer de Flassaders, 15.
