Salou, in Tarragona province, will activate its summer regulated parking system on 1 June, with the scheme running until 30 September. The council says the changes are designed to improve vehicle rotation and make parking easier for residents.

The Blue Zone will operate every day, including public holidays, from 10am to 2pm and from 5pm to 9pm. The Llevant Nord and Sud car parks will have longer hours, from 10am to midnight.

In Cap Salou, regulated parking will be in force from 15 June to 15 September, with continuous hours from 10am to 9pm every day, including public holidays. This area will also have the municipality’s first Green Zone spaces.

The Green Zones will be on Carrer Pla de l’Era, Carrer Llorer, Carrer Corral de Sauner, Carrer Farigola, Carrer Fonoll, Carrer Farola, Carrer Bosc del Quec and Carrer Bosc del Gran. Residents with their tax domicile in Salou, and who pay road tax in the municipality, can park for free using the Mot Aprcar mobile application, renewing their ticket every 72 hours at no cost. Non-residents will pay the standard Blue Zone tariff.

New subscriptions are also available for workers and regular visitors. These allow parking in regulated zones at €0.14 per hour, a 90% discount on standard rates. A seasonal subscription for the full summer costs €180, while a monthly subscription costs €60 for 30 calendar days.

Subscriptions can be bought in person at the Citizen Attention Office, or through Salou Town Council’s electronic headquarters. Residents will also continue to receive one hour of free parking in the Blue Zone, with later hours costing €0.05. For more Catalonia local news, see the news tag.
