Barcelona’s Sala Montjuïc open-air cinema series returns to the Santa Eulàlia Moat at Montjuïc Castle for its 2026 season. The programme includes 16 sessions of films and live concerts, according to Betevé.

Each evening begins with a concert before the screening. Visitors can bring picnics, rent deckchairs, and buy food from on-site vendors. Films will be shown in original language with subtitles.

The season runs from 10 July to 5 August 2026. Doors open at 20:15, concerts start at 20:45, and films begin at 22:00. Tickets start at €8.50, while an entry ticket with a deckchair costs €11.50, plus booking fees. Children aged two and over need a ticket.

The first sessions include Flores para Antonio on 10 July with Acorde a ti, Marty Supreme on 11 July with Acoustic Guiri, and Los Domingos on 13 July with Donateando. Other titles in the line-up include Hamnet, Sirat, Fargo, Thelma & Louise, and The Royal Tenenbaums.

The final session on 5 August will feature a surprise film, with music from The Suitcase Brothers. Sala Montjuïc’s return to Montjuïc Castle marks a move back from last year’s venue at the Tres Xemeneies in Sant Adrià, where the event was held because of construction work at Montjuïc.

The event was inspired by open-air cinema sessions at Paris’s Parc de la Villette, with a format built around picnics, deckchairs, accessible prices, and outdoor film viewing. For more local arts and events coverage, see our news tag.
