In Olot, Girona, the roof of a disused warehouse collapsed on Sunday evening, 7 June 2026, prompting an emergency response on Valls Nous street shortly before 8pm.
Emergency services at the scene included the Generalitat Firefighters, Olot Municipal Police and the Medical Emergency System. Firefighters confirmed that no one was inside the building when the collapse happened, and no injuries were reported.
The warehouse had been inactive for some time, and its ground floor was boarded up. Firefighters used an aerial ladder to inspect the structure from above and assess the extent of the collapse.
After the inspection, no further immediate problems were found. Officials also said the incident did not affect nearby properties or public areas.
Municipal sources said the property owner will be responsible for the repair work. Local authorities are expected to keep an eye on the site while the building is made safe.
