Roses, in Girona, will begin its 2026 sardana season tomorrow, 13 June, with weekly dances every Saturday at Plaça de les Botxes. The open-air sessions will feature cobles from across Catalonia, starting with Cobla Contemporània.
The dances will begin at 22:00 during the summer months. In September, the start time changes to 21:00, except for the Catalan National Day event on 11 September, which will start at 19:00.
The programme also includes the traditional sardana competition on Saturday, 22 August, with Cobla Flama de Farners scheduled to perform. The Town Council says the annual cycle helps keep the sardana tradition active and offers cultural events in a central municipal space.
June performances continue with Cobla Els Rossinyolets on 20 June and Cobla Mediterrània on 27 June. July dates are Cobla Bisbal Jove on 4 July, Cobla Foment del Montgrí on 11 July, Cobla Principal de Cassà on 18 July, and Cobla Genisenca on 25 July.
August continues with Cobla Els Rossinyolets on 1 August, Cobla Cervianenca on 8 August, Cobla Principal d’Olot on 15 August, the competition on 22 August, and Cobla Principal de Banyoles on 29 August. September opens with Cobla Foment del Montgrí on 5 September, followed by Cobla Principal del Rosselló on 11 September, Cobla Sant Jordi on 12 September, Cobla Vila de la Jonquera on 19 September, and Cobla Principal de Banyoles on 26 September.
