Seventeen years after the murder of Empordà businessman Josep Rubau, his son, a musician from Roses, has transformed his family's legal battle into a song. The artist, who spent his childhood and youth in Roses, has launched a new track titled "Crim sense culpables" (Crime Without Culprits). He wants to bring visibility to the injustice his family has faced.

Josep Rubau, a well-known construction entrepreneur in Chile with roots in the Empordà region, was murdered at his Santiago de Chile residence on 15 May 2009. Since then, his family has fought to clarify the facts and bring those responsible to justice. However, the case remains open, and no culprits have been convicted, according to L'Empordà.

Music as a Call for Justice

Rubau's son, who followed his father's artistic path, decided to use music as a tool for protest and advocacy. The song "Crim sense culpables" tells the story of the crime, the family's helplessness with the slow pace of justice, and their hope of one day finding answers.

Through this song, the artist aims to raise public awareness about the importance of justice and the need to remember victims of unpunished crimes. He also hopes the track will support other families in similar situations. The song is available on major digital platforms, and its music video, filmed in various locations across the Empordà, can be viewed on the artist's YouTube channel.
